"The worst collab ever recorded" — Netizens divided over KATSEYE's collaboration with Ice Spice for 'Gnarly'

On June 6, 2025, KATSEYE dropped its collaborative track Gnarly with the American rapper and singer Ice Spice, leaving the internet divided. While some extended their support for the track and liked the new remix version, others thought that it was not needed at all.

For those unversed, Gnarly (Ice Spice Remix) was released through HYBE, UMG, and YG Plus. The band's third English remix was penned by various songwriters including Tim Randolph, Alice Longyu Gao, Madison Love, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, and others. It was composed by Pink Slip, hitman bang, Slow Rabbit, and others.

Subsequently, netizens had varied opinions about the collaboration. While some did not like that KATSEYE collaborated with Ice Spice due to the latter's controversial version, other fans praised it.

Several netizens expressed that they did not like the latest remix version of Gnarly, with some even calling it "horrible."

"Literally horrible and it was for 5 seconds," said a fan.

"Sigh. She’s still using the same recycled verses, same flows, same EVERYTHING. The only thing that changes is the beat," wrote another fan.

However, some netizens defended the track, sharing that they liked it, with one fan calling it "cute."

KATSEYE features six members, including Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae. The group has been associated with HYBE LABELS and Geffen Records. The band was formed after participating in The Debut: Dream Academy. The group made its official debut with the digital single Debut on June 28, 2024.
