Twitch streamers Kai Cenat and Ludwig recently handed $100K prize money to music producer LJay Currie after the latter won their challenge. The streamers had collaborated on November 25, 2024 to do the $100K giveaway challenge.
Participants had to take help of clues left by the duo on their Twitch stream to locate them in Los Angeles. Cenat announced the contest on day 26 of his Mafiathon 2 24/7 Marathon stream, in association with Ahgren.
After LJay Currie won the contest, the two streamers spoke to him on their live stream and handed over a huge check with the promised amount of $100K. Currie revealed on the stream that he drove 40 minutes alongside his friends to find Kai Cenat and Ludwig. He added that he planned to share the money with three friends.
"One of my homies went to Santa Monica, one went to the observatory, I was going to the Grove, we had somebody in West Hollywood. I was driving up this street and saw the curtain from the top of the building. You see the street right there? That's where I came from," Currie explained.
Fans took to X to react to the streamers handing over the prize money to LJay Currie. Many fans pointed out that Currie was not just a "lucky fan" and was a well-known music producer. Some were left disappointed because they supposedly did not expect an established public figure to win the challenge.
In response to a netizen calling Currie a "lucky fan," an X user wrote:
"This "lucky fan" produced for Drake 💀"
"Ljay Currie not a random fan lmao this sh*t be crazy," a fan jibed.
"Currie probably got more out of the promo for being on Kai's stream than winning the money tbh," another user alleged.
"Currie smh… the rich get richer," a netizen added.
Some of the other reactions were as follows:
"Currie does NOT need that money bro give it to someone else wtf," a fan commented.
"Currie produced for Drake and dated Iggy, isn’t even a sub & they’re making the rich richer 😭😭 kai cenat should know better smh," another user chimed in.
"Bro this is staged...," a fan opined.

Who is LJay Currie? Music producer left NBA prospects to pursue a career in music
According to Hollywood Life, LJay Currie was one of the top 100 basketball collegiate recruits in the country. The NBA prospect left basketball to pursue a career in music. After listening to his 2018 EP Free, Capitol Records signed him on their label.
In an interview with Hollywood Life on November 20, 2018, Currie spoke about what inspired him to change his career from sports to music. He said:
"Yeah so, my whole life I played basketball. At the age of 10, I got a piano for my birthday. At [age] 11, I got a guitar for my birthday, at 12 I got drums for my birthday. Every year, I was just getting instruments, and I just fell in love with them myself, because everything was so accessible."
Currie added:
"Now, you can just go on YouTube and teach yourself how to play chords on piano and guitar, or can go on YouTube and learn how to play the songs or learn the drum pattern, so just at an early age, like 10, I started teaching myself how to play the instruments, though I played basketball so much, every day."
LJay Currie further explained that he went to college in Norwich state but dropped out soon after. This led to his parents being "mad" and he was "kicked out of the house." One of his friends took him to American actor and singer Jamie Foxx as he was Foxx's nephew. Currie revealed that he became "comfortable" at Foxx's house and began his "hustle" in his studio.
Apart from Jamie Foxx, Currie also credited singer Lionel Richie for giving him valuable advice in the industry.
"I played him [Lionel Richie] my music and he fell in love with it, and so I would go over there and just chop it up with him, and play him my new stuff, and so, he gave me a lot of good advice. He’s so wise…so wise," Currie said.
Eventually, LJay Currie ended up signing his first record deal with Capitol Records. The music producer mentioned Kanye West and Lil Wayne as his musical inspirations.
