On Friday, June 6, Lil Wayne dropped his 14th studio album, Tha Carter VI. Arriving six years after the fifth installment of his Tha Carter series, the album consists of 19 songs.

One of the songs from the latest hip-hop album, Sharks, that featured Big Sean and Jelly Roll, seems to have caught the attention of netizens, particularly because of Sean's rap verse on it.

Multiple Weezy fans have been tweeting about Big Sean's verse on X. One of them tweeted:

"Wayne carried by big sean"

Some netizens claimed that Big Sean out-rapped Lil Wayne on Sharks.

Meanwhile, others called the feature the best part of Weezy's Tha Carter VI album.

In the wake of the attention Big Sean's verse on Lil Wayne's Sharks was getting on social media, the rapper tweeted about it:

The Days from Lil Wayne's new album was soundtracked in the NBA Finals promo

Besides Sharks, another song from Lil Wayne's Tha Carter VI that has attracted netizens' attention is The Days - which features the Irish singer-songwriter, Bono.

A day before the album's drop, on Thursday, June 5, the track was used in the promo video for the NBA Finals game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers, where the latter took the lead.

In the song, Bono raps:

"I pledge allegiance to what I believe in/ Live to fight another day/ I ain’t getting younger, but I’m getting better/ No time to waste that’s another man’s treasure/ They say every dog has hit day/ These are the days."

In a statement about the ESPN collaboration, Wayne said:

"Basketball’s been in my blood since day one, so to team up with ESPN less than 24 hours before the drop of Tha Carter VI for the NBA Finals is an incredible honor. My music and the NBA are vibin’ on the same frequency because it’s perfect timing for fans to hear Tha Carter VI on the game’s grandest stage."

The Days isn't the only Lil Wayne song that ESPN has used for the NBA ads this season, Billboard reports.

Among other Weezy tracks that have soundtracked other Playoffs ads are Glory (Remix), Uproar, and I Am Not a Human Being.

Addressing their compatibility in a statement, Curtis Friends - ESPN's vice president of sports marketing - said that Weezy's "energy, edge, and emotion" match with the NBA Finals, amplifying their "storytelling and connecting with fans as we showcase today's rising stars on the league's biggest stage".

While Lil Wayne just dropped his album, Big Sean is gearing up for his upcoming performance in his hometown later this month, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Sean is set to perform at the Detroit Symphony on June 29, leading the Orchestra Hall bill where hip-hop blends with the orchestral arrangements.

Other rappers joining him are Tee Grizzley, Nasaan, Skilla Baby, and Queen Naija.
