"Why did bro do this?": Fans call out Kanye as rapper seemingly uses AI vocals on 'Sky City' from Vultures 2

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign released Vultures 2, on Friday, August 2, 2024. The album is the second one to be dropped by the hip-hop supergroup ¥$. West reportedly dropped this album as a sequel to Vultures 1. The first installment was officially released in February 2024. While West had released the second album as a part of their joint moniker, fans couldn't wait but react to it.

Several netizens took it to X, formerly known as Twitter, and claimed that Kanye West had used AI vocals in one of the tracks of this album titled Sky City. Here are some of the online reactions on the track:

One user wrote,

"Did Kanye partly use AI on his SKY CITY verse? It feels like someone gave him a ref and they just deepfaked the voice."

"Why is literally no one talking about this I thought it was obvious," read another tweet.

"How are mfs saying they cant see it i could tell after the first 2 lines 😭😭," tweeted another user.

"What I'm hoping is something made ye rush to release the album and used ai for the verse and hopefully is gonna fix it later but idk 😭😭," wrote a user.

Several other netizens, however, had a different perspective towards this alleged use of AI in the track. One user mentioned:

"I think he’s trying out something new to see how the technology works out..."

"Bro just enjoy the album," read a tweet.

"Tbh I think it’s just poor mixing etc... People making a big deal out of nothing imo," wrote a user.

Despite the allegations against Kanye West, about using AI for his rap in Sky City, no official confirmation regarding the same has been received yet. The rapper also hasn't spoken about the issue, as of now.

More about Kanye West's Vultures 2 album and track Sky City

As mentioned, the first part of the Vultures series was dropped in February. The next two were expected to drop in March and April. However, it failed to materialize by March, as reported by NME. This marked August 2 as the release date for Vultures 2. One of the most talked about songs of the latest Kanye West album is Sky City, which was released on August 3.

The song was an unreleased track of Ye, which originally considered vocals of artists like Ty Dolla $ign, Ant Clemons, 070 Shake, The-Dream, Desiigner, and Kid Cudi. Sky City was initially known as City In The Sky. The track was also seen on a leaked tracklist of Kanye West's ninth studio album Jesus Is King. It was, however, later scraped off the list.

Another song that the fans were waiting for was 530. In 2022, the track was first revealed on the early tracklist of Kanye's album Donda 2. Fans noticed that apart from a Drake diss the song is pretty much unchanged in the latest album, including the track's outro. One of the other tracks Bomb, had further featured Kanye West's children North and Chicago. Recently Kai Cenat also reacted to the rap done by North and Chicago.

Some other tracks of the newly released album include- Forever Rolling, Time Moving Slow, Isabella, My Soul, and Field Trip, to name a few.

The overall album has, however, been quite successful since its release. It has already topped the US Billboard 200 and US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Fans had been waiting for a long time since the announcement of the album was made.
