Singer Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have pushed back four shows in Europe on doctor's orders. On Sunday, May 26, 2024, 'The Boss' took to his Instagram to announce they were postponing shows in Prague and Milan, adding that his European Stadium Tour would resume on June 12 at Civitas Metropolitan in Madrid, Spain.

"Following yesterday's postponement in Marseille due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days," the statement explained.

The statement comes a day after the Dancing in the Dark singer postponed his concert at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille, France (originally scheduled for May 25) due to "vocal issues and under doctor’s direction."

The post listed that concerts at Airport Letnany in Prague, Czech Republic (originally scheduled for May 28) and San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy (originally scheduled for June 1 and June 3) were pushed back.

Bruce Springsteen previously postponed Springsteen & E Street Band 2023 Tour due to health issues

Bruce Springsteen's Instagram statement added that new dates would be announced shortly, and those wishing for a refund should obtain it at their original point of purchase. The post concluded with a message that Bruce Springsteen was "recuperating comfortably", and that he and the E Street Band were looking forward to the June 12 show.

This is not the first time that Bruce Springsteen has pushed back his concerts. He previously postponed several of his Springsteen & E Street Band 2023 Tour due to health issues.

Back in August 2023, the 74-year-old initially postponed two concerts scheduled in Philadelphia due to an unspecified illness. However, by September, he had postponed all his shows scheduled for the month after the advice of medical staff. At the time, Bruce Springsteen released a statement that revealed he was "being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease."

By the end of the month, the singer announced that the rest of his 2023 tour would be rescheduled to 2024 as he was still being treated for the aforementioned disease.

During a March 2024 call-in with Sirius XM's E Street Radio, the Born in the U.S.A. singer stated:

"When I had the stomach problem, one of the big problems was that I couldn’t sing. You sing with your diaphragm. My diaphragm was hurting so badly that when I went to make the effort to sing, it was killing me. So I literally couldn’t sing at all."

Bruce Springsteen confessed that he endured the pain for 2–3 months before finally getting help. The singer and E Street Band resumed their 2023 world tour this year after a six-month gap.

At the time, the Born This Way singer was worried he could never sing again. He told E Street Radio:

"This is (singing) one of the things I love to do the best, the most, and right now I can’t do it. You know, I can’t do it, and it took a while for the doctors to say, ‘Oh no. You’re gonna be OK.’ At first, nobody was quite saying that, which made me nervous, you know..."

Bruce Springsteen's tour is currently scheduled to run through November, with shows across Europe, the United States, and Canada.
