The NHL offseason is nearly upon us as only two teams remain in the hunt for the Stanley Cup. Once the Cup gets handed out, the attention quickly shifts to the NHL Draft on June 27-28 and free agency on July 1. Ahead of those important dates on the calendar, some star players could also be traded.

Ahead of the offseason truly beginning, here are three NHL players who could be dealt.

3 NHL stars who could be traded ahead of 2025 NHL Draft

#1, Rasmus Andersson, Calgary Flames

Rasmus Andersson is entering the final year of his six-year, $27.3 million deal with the Calgary Flames.

Andersson is a star defenseman who plays on Calgary's top pairing, but his name has come up in trade rumors. If Andersson tells Calgary he won't re-sign, the Flames will likely want to move him at the draft for a package including draft picks. He recorded 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points in 81 games last season.

#2, Marco Rossi, Minnesota Wild

Marco Rossi is a pending RFA, but his name has been heavily involved in trade rumors.

Rossi hasn't been thrilled with his role with the Wild and is an offer sheet candidate, but also a trade candidate. Wild general manager Bill Guerin also said a trade is something the team is looking at.

“And look, he’s no different than any other player. If we can make our team better by trading someone, we’re going to do it. But that doesn’t mean we don’t like the player," Guerin said, via The Athletic. "And Marco is a player that we like. He had a good season again. So I don’t know where all this is coming from. … Marco’s a good player.”

Rossi was selected ninth overall in 2020. Last season with the Wild, he recorded 24 goals and 36 assists for 60 points in 82 games.

#3, Chris Kreider, New York Rangers

The New York Rangers are looking to overhaul their roster, and Chris Kreider's name has come up in trade rumors.

Kreider has trade protection, but at this point, a change of scenery seems good for him and the team. Kreider will likely only be traded for draft picks, which is why he's likely to be dealt before the draft.
