Tonight, the Vancouver Canucks will look to make it three straight wins when they face off in a road game against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. After a second-round elimination in last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, the team is looking to make a deep playoff run this season.

Looking at the Vancouver Canucks' season so far and upcoming games

Last year, the Vancouver Canucks finished the regular season with a 50-23-9 record that saw them finish the season atop the Pacific Division. While a second-round series against the Edmonton Oilers spelled the end of the team's season, they entered into this season eager to make a deep playoff run.

Currently, the team is sitting in third in the Pacific Division with a record of 6-2-3 that sees them holding onto 15 points alongside the 7-5-1 Calgary Flames. Sitting atop the Pacific Division standings are the Vegas Golden Knights and the Kings, who both have 19 points.

Heading into tonight's game, the Canucks are riding a two-game win streak that has seen them pick up back-to-back wins over the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks.

Following tonight's game against the Kings, the Canucks will look to avenge last year's playoff loss to the Edmonton Oilers when the two sides face off in Vancouver on Saturday to wrap up the week.

The game will mark the first of six straight games Vancouver will play at home, with games against the Calgary Flames, New York Islanders, and Chicago Blackhawks scheduled for next week.
