Ahead of the Oilers game on Saturday, here's what their projected lines are expected to look like.

Predicted Oilers lineup

Forwards

  • Leon Draisaitl - Connor McDavid - Zach Hyman
  • Vasily Podkolzin - Ryan Nugent-Hopkins - Viktor Arvidsson
  • Jeff Skinner - Adam Henrique - Connor Brown
  • Mattias Janmark - Derek Ryan - Corey Perry

Edmonton put Draisaitl and McDavid together up front, which has helped boost the offense as the Oilers won back-to-back games.

Defenseman

  • Mattias Ekholm - Evan Bouchard
  • Darnell Nurse - Troy Stetcher
  • Brett Kulak - Ty Emberson

The Oilers' blue line had question marks to begin the season, and the bottom two pairings have struggled at times through five games. However, against Nashville, Brett Kulak scored twice, and he believes Edmonton has started to play much better.

"It's always fun scoring goals, for sure, but it's more fun when the team builds its game," Kulak said, via NHL.com. "We did and it feels like we're getting our game back on track."

Goalies

  • Stuart Skinner
  • Calvin Pickard

Stuart Skinner will be back between the net, as he has been much better after a disastrous start. Skinner played well in the Oilers' wins against Philadelphia, and he will look to build on that against a Stars team that is one of the best in the NHL.

Skinner is 1-2-0 with a 4.42 GAA and a .845 SV%.

Oilers vs Stars Preview

Edmonton will continue its road trip and play the Dallas Stars, a team that just lost its first game of the season.

The Oilers and Stars both have great offenses, but Dallas does have the better goalie in Jake Oettinger, who just signed an extension.

However, Edmonton has confidence and momentum entering the game, as it is on a two-game winning streak. But Oettinger should be able to limit Edmonton's chances and help Dallas edge out a win here to get back into the win column.

Prediction: Dallas 4, Edmonton 2.
