Linus Ullmark's NHL career and stats

After getting drafted in 2012, Linus Ullmark spent the next three seasons with Modo in the Swedish Hockey League before going to North America.

Ullmark split the 2015-16 season between Buffalo and Rochester of the American Hockey League. He went 8-10-2 with a 2.60 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 20 NHL games.

Despite his impressive statistics, Ullmark spent the majority of the next two seasons in Rochester, appearing in only six NHL games (four starts).

He remained with the Sabres in 2018-19 and was supposed to be the backup for Carter Hutton, who signed a three-year contract with the team. However, with Hutton struggling for consistency, Ullmark got plenty of time in the net. He appeared in 37 games (34 starts), posting a 15-14-5 record, 3.11 GAA, and a .905 save percentage.

Ullmark's strong play continued in 2019-20, and he took over the No. 1 job from Hutton. He went 17-14-3 with a 2.69 GAA and .915 save percentage in 34 starts before the season was halted on March 12 due to coronavirus concerns.

Ullmark signed a four-year contract with the Boston Bruins on July 28, 2021, after six seasons with the Sabres. On Feb. 25, 2023, he scored into an empty net with 48 seconds remaining in a 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.

He became the 13th goalie in NHL history to score a goal during the regular season and the eighth to do so by shooting the puck into the net. He was also the first since the Nashville Predators' Pekka Rinne, who did so on Jan. 9, 2020, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
