The game started slowly, with both teams failing to convert their chances. Following a 12th-minute strike from Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn put the Stars 2-0 ahead in the first period.

After Jason Robertson made it 3-0 for Dallas, Patrick Kane stole the limelight. He scored twice and assisting once in the second period to bring the Blackhawks on level terms with the division leaders. Max Domi also recorded a brace for the winners.

NHL Twitter erupted following the brilliant display from Patrick Kane. One fan tweeted:

"At this point I wouldn’t trade Patrick Kane for McDavid."

Another said:

"I’m sure I’m not the only Blackhawks fan that desperately wants Patrick Kane to stay in Chicago. I’m hoping his recent form is just a sign that he wants to stay, but if not it’s gonna be one hell of an emotional time for me and his other fans. The guy means so much to me."

Patrick Kane's career so far

Partick Kane started his professional career in 2007 with Chicago Blackhawks and has been a regular for them with over a decade of experience.

He's one of the players from the elite league with more than 1200 points. There has been a dip in his performances, but he has been a crucial piece on the team's offense.

Kane has done decently well with 16 goals and 29 assists in 54 games this season. This month, he has eight points in as many starts.

Chicago Blackhawks 2022-23 season so far

The Hawks have had a poor season, as they languish in last place of the Western Conference Central Division with 45 points.

They have not capitalized on their chances, scoring only 138 goals. All the contributions have come from the likes of Max Domi and Jonathan Toews, but with Kane showing a resurgence, they look better offensively.

Their defense has been poor, conceding around 3.6 goals per game this season. With goaltender Jaxson Stauber recording five wins in six starts, conceding just two goals per game, the Hawks look solid at the back.

Having won their last four games, they will look to get another positive result to sustain their momentum and end the league stage on a high whenthey face the San Jose Sharks on Sunday (Feb. 25).
