The Montreal Canadiens will look to snap a five-game skid on Saturday night when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second of their four straight games on the road. Since dealing with injuries to Patrik Laine and David Reinbacher in the preseason, the team has struggled to find consistency and string together wins, going just 4-8-2 since the start of the season.
After finishing last in the Atlantic Division last season, the Canadiens may be poised for another year at the bottom of the divisional rankings unless they can turn things around.
With that in mind, the Habs lines for tonight are expected to be as follows:
Forwards:
- LW Cole Caufield - C Nick Suzuki - RW Kirby Dach
- LW Alex Newhook - C Jake Evans - RW Juraj Slafkovsky
- LW Brendan Gallagher - C Christian Dvorak - RW Josh Anderson
- LW Emil Heineman - C Lucas Condotta - RW Joel Armia
Defense:
- Mike Matheson - Kaiden Guhle
- Lane Hutson - David Savard
- Arber Xhekaj - Jayden Struble
Goalies:
- Samuel Montembeault
- Cayden Primeau
Powerplay:
- Kirby Dach, Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield, Mike Matheson
- Brendan Gallagher, Alex Newhook, Emil Heineman, Joel Armia, Lane Hutson
Penalty Kill:
- Jake Evans, Joel Armia, Arber Xhekaj, Kaiden Guhle

Looking at the odds for tonight's Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs game as well as upcoming games for the Habs
Ahead of Saturday night's divisional game against the Maple Leafs, the Montreal Canadiens are underdogs on most major US sportsbooks. On FanDuel, the Habs have +180 odds to win, while on the flip side, the Toronto Maple Leafs have -220 odds to win.
To simplify these terms, a $100 bet on the Canadiens as the underdogs would win $180, while a $220 bet on the Maple Leafs as the favorites is needed to win $100. Of course, these odds can change between publication and puck drop.
Following their clash with Toronto, the Canadiens will head to Buffalo to play the Sabres on Monday before wrapping up their road trip with a game against the Wild on Thursday.
Next Saturday, the team will return home for the first time since Nov. 5 when they kick off a four-game home stretch. While at home, they will play the Blue Jackets on Saturday, Nov. 16, followed by the Oilers on Monday, the Golden Knights on Saturday, and the Uth Hockey Club on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
