The Vancouver Canucks go on the road to play the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET. Vancouver (5-2-3) is coming off a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on the road to return to the win column after a 6-0 loss at home to the New Jersey Devils.
Ahead of the pivotal divisional game, here is what the Canucks lineup is expected to look like.
Canucks predicted lineup
Forwards
- Jake DeBrusk - J.T. Miller - Brock Boeser
- Pius Suter - Elias Pettersson - Conor Garland
- Danton Heinen - Teddy Blueger - Kiefer Sherwood
- Nils Hoglander - Arsdheep Bains - Daniel Sprong
The Canucks forward group has been solid this season, as they are averaging 3.0 goals per game. Vancouver is also getting depth scoring, which has been a benefit.
Defensemen
- Quinn Hughes - Filip Hronek
- Carson Soucy - Tyler Myers
- Erik Brannstrom - Vincent Desharnais
The Canucks have started to roll with this blue line, as Erik Brannstrom has played well in Vancouver after being acquired from the Colorado Avalanche.
Goalies
- Kevin Lankinen
- Arturs Silovs
Lankien has taken over as the starter, as he has been solid this season and was a key reason for their win against San Jose.
“Every game he's played, he's given us a chance to win. He's a low maintenance guy, but he's always on the ice working on his game – I love guys that do that,” Tocchet said about his goaltender.
Lankinen has gone 5-0-2 with a 2.25 GAA and a .919 SV%.
Canucks vs. Ducks: Preview
Vancouver is a -218 favorite, while Anaheim is a +180 underdog. The over/under is set at six goals.
The Canucks continue their road trip and barely edged out San Jose. However, Vancouver should play much better here as Anaheim has struggled this season.
The Ducks have struggled to score goals this season while Lankinen has played well, and he should limit Anaheim's offense. Although Lukas Dostal has been great in goal, this Canucks offense can score goals in bunches, so expect Vancouver to get out to an early lead and Lankinen to shut the door.
Prediction: Canucks 5, Ducks 2.
