The Utah Hockey Club is gearing up for its inaugural season. The expansion team has recruited all the necessary players, including making their first-ever draft picks over the summer. However, one crucial element is still missing: an official team name. With the season just a month away, that's still the case.

The franchise debuted its season uniforms but with no name or notable logo present. They're going to remain the Utah Hockey Club for the time being, and that has fans upset.

"My favorite hockey team is the Utah Placeholder Name," one fan complained.

"This isn’t Europe. Stop with the soccer club crap," another said.

"Oof. I was hopeful this franchise would do better than the Yotes but I gotta say this is terrible start. Meh jersey and not even a team name. Brutal," one added.

"Imagine how sick those jerseys would look if yall would’ve chosen just about any other team name.. The $$$ yall lost out on," another noted.

The Hockey Club may eventually have a mascot like all other NHL teams, but for the time being, they remain without one. Most fans are upset about that, and a few even think the uniforms they revealed are unsatisfactory as well.

Utah Hockey Club confirms broadcast crew for upcoming season

For the first time, there is a Utah Hockey Club. As that's the case, the team needs all the aspects of an NHL club, including a broadcast team. Ahead of its inaugural season, they have confirmed who will be on the call.

Former Arizona Coyotes announcer Matt McConnell will be the local play-by-play person. Dominic Moore, an ex-NHL player and former ESPN broadcaster, and Nick Olczyk, who just played with the Seattle Kraken, will take the analyst roles.

Former Colorado Avalanche host Kim Becker will be the team's main studio host, and ex-Bally Sports Southwest host and reporter Sarah Merrifield will work rinkside during games. Regular season games begin for the first time in Utah history in early October.
