Florida Panthers' top 3 prospects to watch out for in 2024/25 season

The Florida Panthers are the reigning Stanley Cup champions and have a deep roster. Because of its competitive nature, Florida has tarded plenty of picks and prospects to bolster its NHL roster. But as a result of that, it doesn't have a ton of high-level prospects.

However, a few prospects could play games in the upcoming season. This article will explore the top three prospects to watch out for in the approaching season.

Florida Panthers' top 3 prospects to watch out for

#1, Mackie Samoskevich

Mackie Samoskevich is the top prospect for the Florida Panthers. He was picked 24th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft and spent last season in the AHL. Samoskevich did appear in seven NHL games last season but did not record a point. He recorded 22 goals and 32 assists for 54 points in the AHL.

With Vladimir Tarasenko and Kyle Okposo gone, there are openings in the forward group.

#2, Justin Sourdif

Justin Sourdif was selected in the third round of the 2020 draft and appeared in three NHL games last season, recording zero points.

Like Samoskevich, the Panthers have openings at forward after Tarasenko left in free agency and Okposo likely retiring. Sourdif could be a bottom-six forward and add some physical play to the bottom of the lineup.

#3, Jack Devine

Jack Devine was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NHL Draft and could be one of the biggest steals of the draft. Devine was a key part of the University of Denver team that won the national championship last season. He is returning to school for his senior season but could sign once the season ends.

Devine could make his NHL debut later this year and be in the playoff lineup once his college career ends.
