The Canadien roster will have Caleb Desnoyers in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup 2024

Caleb Desnoyers will play for Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup 2024. He will get drafted in the 2025 NHL Draft. Canada has won the past two editions and 24 times since 1991.

Desnoyers, 6-foot-1 and 178 pounds, made the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League All-Rookie Team last season. He scored 56 points in 60 games for Moncton. At the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship, he had five points in five games, helping Canada win gold.

Coach Kris Mallette praised Desnoyers for his competitiveness (via NHL.com):

"Here's a player that really looks competitive. He battles and competes very hard. He has that skill. We talk about soft skill and hard skill. Here's a player that wants the puck and will do anything to get it. His demeanor is very personable. He comes up and asks the right questions. He wants to be a leader, and right now he is doing that by example."

Other potential first-round picks on the team include defensemen Matthew Schaefer, Reese Hamilton, Jackson Smith, and forwards Cole Reschny and Jake O’Brien. Gavin McKenna, a top prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft, is also on the roster.
