Cale Makar will be playing tonight versus the Winnipeg Jets after exiting Thursday's game versus Seattle Kraken in the third period due to an undisclosed injury. Head coach Jared Bednar addressed Makar's exit after the Seattle game and said he had "tweaked something" late in the second period.
Ahead of the Colorado Avalanche's clash against the NHL's best team, Winnipeg Jets, coach Bednar had yet another update on Cale Makar's playing status.
Per insider Elliotte Friedman, Bednar said (at the post practice interview) Cale Makar will be a game-time decision tonight, after skating at the team's morning practice.
Minuted before puck drop on Thursday night, the Winnipeg Jets PR account tweeted out the lines for the game, and the Colorado Avalanche line chart mentioned Avs' starting D-pair of Devon Toews, and Cale Makar.
The Avalanche are already marred with multiple short and long-term injuries to their squad. Earlier last week, they were without multiple top-six forwards owing to injuries. Losing their No. 1 D-man for any period of time will prove to be detrimental for the Avs, who have been on a 13-game point streak ever since the start of the season.
