Former Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine had been a beloved figure in Columbus, partially because of the player's attempt at giving back to the community. Laine had been an active advocate for mental health and had even announced donating $10,000 to Columbus' mental health fund for every point he scored last season.
While the 26-year-old is a popular figure in the locker room, Laine is an equally sweet partner in his relationship with faincee Jordan Leigh. On Sunday, Jordan shared an adorable incident about her partner's love language in an Instagram story.
“Patty wins the best fiance ever award this morning because he let me sleep in and when I woke up he'd already walked and fed boogie, figured out where to take the trash for our air bnb and even got me this coffee on his way home,” Jordan wrote on her story.
“Acts of service king,” she added.
She then shared her love language; words of affirmation, acts of service, gift-giving, and spending quality time.
Earlier last week, Laine visited the Bell Centre for the first time since his trade. He posed in his #92 jersey in Habs colors, which was later posted on the club's socials.
Laine was excited to join Montreal after the trade was announced in August. He expressed that he is looking forward to playing again in Canada.
"It's the biggest hockey market there is, I've played in Canada before, obviously, and I loved every minute of it, I miss being back there where hockey is the number one thing and people really genuinely care about the team and obviously the players," Laine said. [H/T NHL.com]
Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh to get married next summer
Earlier this offseason Patrik Laine popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Jordan Leigh. He got down on one knee in a beautiful beach setting and proposed to her on the rocks by the sea.
Leigh shared snaps of their special day on her Instagram and later announced that they had already decided upon the date of their wedding.
“Forever with you simply isn’t enough 💍 Mr and Mrs Laine coming June 2025!!!” Jordan Leigh wrote on her Instagram.
That means if all goes well, the Habs forward will be turning a new leaf in his personal life next summer. Meanwhile, he will be preparing for life in Montreal, regrouping with his new teammates and making an impact for the Canadiens next season.
