Kyle Dubas pens farewell letter to Toronto Maple Leafs fans

In a heartfelt farewell letter, Kyle Dubas, former general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, expressed his gratitude and reflected on his time with the organization. Although he did not delve into the specifics of his departure, he acknowledged the decision of the organization to go in a different direction.

Dubas took the opportunity to reflect on the growth and experiences he had during his nine seasons with the Maple Leafs.

Kyle Dubas acknowledged that working in the National Hockey League for the Maple Leafs provided him with invaluable learning opportunities. Throughout the ups and downs, he witnessed personal growth and the expansion of his family.

Dubas wrote:

"I had the full support of my family for what I knew would be required in the off-season and years to follow, the organization, as is their right to do, decided to go in a different direction."

He expressed deep appreciation for the relationships he formed and the inspiring environment he worked in. The dedicated and loyal people within the organization, as well as the passionate fan base, left a lasting impact on him:

"In the nine seasons since being afforded the opportunity to work... for the Toronto Maple Leafs, we have had the chance to learn a lot and have grown significantly through the ups and downs....relationships which will last a lifetime. It was an honour ... with dedicated, loyal people and an extremely passionate fan base."

Kyle Dubas went on to thank everyone and concluded his letter

The letter was not only a message to the fans but also a tribute to the players (NHL), coaches, and staff who shared the journey with Dubas. He expressed gratitude for the pleasure of working alongside them every day. The relationships forged within the organization, from the board of directors to the ushers at Scotiabank Arena, hold a special place in his heart.

"... relationships with all of the people at MLSE, from the board of directors through to the ushers at Scotiabank Arena, will forever hold a dear place in our hearts."

Dubas' farewell letter conveyed a sense of gratitude and respect for the people who made the organization what it is.

"To the players, coaches and staff ... thank you for your passion and commitment at... journey together. It was a tremendous pleasure to work alongside you each day. We will roll from here."

As the Maple Leafs move forward under new leadership, fans will undoubtedly cherish his memories.
