Matthew Tkachuk, 25, is the winger for the Florida Panthers. He was drafted by the Calgary Flames as the sixth pick in the 2016 NHL entry draft.

Tkachuk had an impressive run with the Flames and recorded many scoring accolades with the team, but his best season with the team was coincidentally one of the best seasons in the Flames' history.

Last season, Tkachuk, along with center Elias Lindholm and right winger Johnny Gaudreau, formed one of the most aggressive and dominant attacks in the NHL. Each of them scored at least 40 goals and broke many individual and team records. The Calgary Flames won the Pacific Division title and headed into the Stanley Cup playoffs where they exited in Round 2 after a series loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

In his six years with the Calgary Flames, Matthew Tkachuk had 152 goals, 230 assists and 382 points in 431 games played.

In July 2022, Matthew Tkachuk was traded to the Florida Panthers. They sent him and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2025 in exchange for Jonathan Huberdeau, MacKenzie Weegar, Cole Schwindt, and a lottery-protected 2025 first-round pick.

In the 50 games he has played this season for the Panthers, Tkachuk has scord 27 goals and 44 assists, putting him at 71 points. He is projected to have 114 points by the end of the regular season, breaking his career-high 104 points in the 2021-22 season.

Tkachuk broke a number of personal records in his five-point performance:

He recorded his eighth game this season with three or more points. The other players who have achieved this are Connor McDavid (12), Nikita Kucherov (9), Ryan Nugent Hopkins (9), Leon Draisatil (9) and Tage Thompson (9).

He also recorded the third five-point game of his career. He is behind Olli Jokinen and Mason Marchment for the most five-point games by a Panther.

He surpassed Mike Hoffman (70 points) for the second-most points by a Panther player in their season with the club and is behind Sam Reinhart (82 points).
