Detroit Red Wings forward Jonatan Berggren has been fined $2,148.44 for cross-checking Toronto Maple Leafs forward Connor Dewar. The incident happened during NHL Game No. 479 on Saturday at 10:53 in the second period. Berggren received a minor penalty for the cross-check.
"Detroit’s Jonatan Berggren has been fined $2,148.44, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Toronto’s Connor Dewar," NHL Player Safety tweeted on Sunday.

"Absolute joke. If Dewar did this, it would be a 2-game suspension easily. Parros is biased," one fan said.

Jonatan Berggren received the fine for his play in Red Wings 4-2 win
The Toronto Maple Leafs lost 4-2 to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. Jeff Petry scored twice for Detroit. He gave the Red Wings a 1-0 lead with a point shot in the first period before Auston Matthews tied the game with a power-play goal in the second period.
Moritz Seider put Detroit ahead 2-1 with a goal late in the second but Matthew Knies tied it again early in the third. Petry responded by scoring his second goal to make it 3-2 and Lucas Raymond sealed the win with an empty-net goal.
Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said, per NHL.com,
“That’s a huge win, because we’re just trying to find some traction," Lalonde said during a postgame interview. "They had their A-game tonight, and it wasn’t much different than some other games we had in that 0-3-2 stretch.”
Jonatan Berggren and Detroit will face the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.
