"I’m usually a huge MSL respecter but his coaching decisions this year have really made me question if he’s the guy," another user wrote.
"After last game we all thought maybe they will show up and put up a fight but hell no……no leadership no heart given up 14 goals in two games, 14!!!!!!," a user commented.
"Problem was that management thought Monty was a #1 goalie and Primeau would do the job as a second…boy they were wrong ! Nevermind offensive or defensive help…we need a goalie ASAP !," another user wrote.
The Montreal Canadiens will look to bounce back on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
NHL analyst Brian Wilde talks about Montreal Canadiens' HC Martin St. Louis after loss to Capitals
The loss against the Capitals drops the Habs' record to 4-6-1 through the first 11 games of the season. Following the defeat, NHL analyst Brian Wilde of Global News commented on the pressure facing coach Martin St. Louis.
"It’s disappointing how much heat Head Coach Martin St. Louis is taking early in this season.” Wilde said. “A coach loses the media and the fan base when they feel the club should be doing much better than they are."
According to Wilde, expectations were high coming into this year that the Canadiens would take a step forward in their rebuild. However, the team has struggled to find consistency and string together wins.
