The price of Sam Bennett seems to go up with every game in these Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Florida's gritty second-line center has elevated his play to a whole new level this postseason, and it's come at the best possible time for him and his agent.
Bennett leads the Panthers in playoff goals and points, having racked up 20 points (14 goals, six assists) in 20 games, which has already well surpassed his production from Florida's previous two Stanley Cup runs.
The hockey world is well aware that Sam Bennett is a pending UFA, which has sparked the conversation and debate about what he's worth on a new contract. Paul Bissonnette and the guys from Spittin' Chiclets dove into the discussion on Tuesday morning, and Biz believes some teams are willing to throw massive money at Bennett.
Spittin' Chiclets shared the clip on X (formerly Twitter).
"Bennett, I believe, has four in this series. And Bennett has an NHL record: 12 road goals. He's got 14 goals in playoffs, 12 of which on the road. Now, we talked about it in the box last night. You seem to still think it would be a bad contract. I think this guy's getting 10 million all day. I think that four or five teams would offer him 10 million," Bissonnette said.
Bennett is a pending UFA in the final season of the four-year, $17,700,000 contract extension he signed with the Panthers in 2021.

Sam Bennett put forth a vintage performance for the hockey world to watch on Monday night.
The 28-year-old tallied his 14th goal of these playoffs on a beautiful breakaway move, seconds after delivering a big open-ice hit on Vasily Podkolzin.
NHL analyst Nick Alberga perfectly encapsulated the sequence in a post on X.
"That shift right there is why Sam Bennett's worth every penny & then some," Alberga wrote.
While other teams around the NHL will likely offer him more money in free agency, it's hard to fathom a better situation for Sam Bennett than remaining a Florida Panther.
For now, Bennett and the Panthers seek a 3-1 lead in the Stanley Cup Finals in Game 4 against the Oilers on Thursday night in Florida. The puck drops at 8 p.m. EST at Amerant Bank Arena.
