Calgary Flames fans have shared their opinion about Oliver Kylington leaving. The Colorado Avalanche signed Kylington on Monday for one year at $1.05 million.
Kylington, who missed the 2022-23 season and part of the 2023-24 season due to personal reasons, played 33 games for the Flames after his return. He scored three goals and had five assists. His efforts earned him a Bill Masterton Trophy nomination.
On Tuesday, the Flames bid Kylington goodbye on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
"Thank you for everything Shilly!"
NHL fans reacted to the tweet.
"Thanks for never showing up buddy," one fan said.
"Nahhhhhh, The flames handled his situation with pure class. People don’t want to admit it, and sure he has the right to do whatever, but he truly owed this organization for the support and pay they gave him during his tough time," another fan commented.
"This post didn’t have to happen. The organization did more for him than he did for them," one X user said.

"Thanks for leaving after all the Flames have done for you, supporting you through your hardships. Bad look for Shilly," a fan said.
"Sometimes it is ok to skip the Thank you, especially when they take 2 years off and then bail on the team," a fan tweeted.
"Flames waited for Oliver to get his head on straight. Oliver and his agent believed he was worth the money they were asking for and that he earned a long-term contract. He ends up signing a one year contract," one fan said.
