Fans reacted as the Colorado Avalanche lost 6-4 to the Columbus Blue Jackets in Denver on Saturday night. This loss frustrated fans, especially the goaltending performance.

After the game, the Avalanche posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying,

"Back at it again on Monday."

Fans expressed their disappointment on X.

"Cut Georgiev," one commented referring to goalie Alexandar Georgiev, who had a rough night.

"This goaltending is an embarrassment," another added.

"Can we just get rid of both goalies and save cap space? Just play 60 minutes with an empty net. I doubt we'd notice a difference," one fan asked for a drastic change.

The Blue Jackets' early lead with goals from Werenski and Johnson helped beat the Colorado Avalanche

The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Colorado Avalanche after starting strong with two early goals from Zach Werenski and Kent Johnson in the first period.

Other Blue Jackets scorers included Sean Monahan and Adam Fantilli. Kirill Marchenko scored the tie-breaking goal and added two assists. Yegor Chinakhov also had a good game, scoring a goal and adding two assists. Chinakhov's goal gave CBJ a 5-3 lead.

Nathan MacKinnon scored for Colorado on a power play late in the first period. Goaltender Alexandar Georgiev allowed three goals on nine shots before being replaced. Justus Annunen, who came in for Georgiev, allowed two more goals.

Despite Colorado's 56.3% faceoff win rate, they couldn’t overcome CBJ’s 43.8%. Colorado also served 18 penalty minutes, eight more than CBJ. The Avalanche had 23 hits, while the Jackets had only seven. Daniil Tarasov made 26 saves for the Blue Jackets and played a major role in curbing Colorado's offense.
