NHL X/Twitter erupted in outrage after a Florida Panthers fan was caught on camera intentionally spilling a drink on Edmonton Oilers' forward Kasperi Kapanen following Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
The incident occurred as Kapanen was walking down the tunnel after the Oilers' 6-1 loss on Monday night. A Panthers fan was seen making offensive gestures towards Kapanen, while a female fan then proceeded to spill her drink on the unsuspecting player.
Fans across the league were quick to condemn the action, with one fan describing them as:
"Typical scumbag Florida citizens. Theres a reason that state is called the armpit of America."
Another fan said:
"That is such poor sportsmanship - classless."

"They won’t see another game in the NHL. But then again they probably didn’t know what it was before today anyway," another fan said.
"Kapenen been around a long time. He knows better than to engage with fans and stop in the tunnel," a fan commented.
"Not cool, but to be fair, Oilers started the water fight," one fan added.
Corey Perry scored for Edmonton, while Brad Marchand, Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Evan Rodrigues and Aaron Ekblad added goals for Florida.
Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 32 shots for the Panthers, while the Oilers' Stuart Skinner gave up five goals on 23 shots before being pulled early in the third period. Calvin Pickard came in relief and made seven saves.

Brad Marchand put Florida on board with scoring just 56 seconds in with a shot from the left circle. At the end of the first period, Carter Verhaeghe scored on the power play at 17:45 of the first.
Corey Perry responded for Edmonton with a powerplay goal at 1:40 of the second, but Sam Reinhart answered quickly at 3:00 after a turnover. Sam Bennett extended the lead to 4-1 on a breakaway at 7:26.
Aaron Ekblad added a power-play goal at 3:27 of the third. Evan Rodrigues capped it off with another power-play marker at 16:10, sealing a 6-1 Panthers win.
Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers takes place at Amerant Bank Arena on Thursday.
