Pop star Justin Bieber was present at the Scotiabank Arena during the Toronto Maple Leafs matchup against the Florida Panthers on Wednesday night. The Leafs donned their third jersey for their "Next Generation" game.
The jerseys were designed by Justin Bieber, who along with her wife Haily Bieber and family members were enthusiastically cheering for the Leafs from the stands.
The pop star's streetwear brand Drew House, along with the Maple Leafs, announced on Tuesday the launch of a new ball hockey league for kids. This will be established this summer in Toronto.
Justin Bieber said (via Maple Leafs News):
"I'm so happy to continue our partnership with the Maple Leafs and my goal to help kids everywhere have access to the sport of hockey."
The "Next Generation" Maple Leafs jersey was designed in collaboration with the Adidas brand and the NHL. The jersey itself is cool and also reversible. As such, it is the first-ever reversible jersey to be used in American professional sports.
One side of the jersey features a black and blue color with a leaf crest on the front and the NHL logo slightly above it. The sleeves of the jersey feature a Toronto skyline band on the arms which are highlighted in blue.
Once the jersey is reversed, it features a Drew House-inspired logo merged within the classic Toronto Maple Leafs logo. The trim is gold and the band on the arms are highlighted in yellow.
Justin Bieber is an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who will enter the playoffs for the 72nd time
The pop star is a huge Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Bieber has been a fan of the team since he was a kid, and has often been seen in the stands at Leafs games. He also has close ties to the Leafs star duo of Auston Matthews and Mitchell Marner.
The thirteen-time Stanley Cup winners will enter the 2023 playoffs for the 72nd time in their franchise history. It will be the seventh straight appearance for the Maple Leafs in the playoffs.
Mitchell Marner, William Nylander and Auston Matthews have been the most important players for the team in terms of goal scoring this season. The Maple Leafs have the longest Stanley Cup drought in the league (55 years).
They are considered one of the favorites to win it this time. It will be interesting to see whether the Maple Leafs can overcome their Cup drought this time.
