The Boston Bruins lost 2-0 to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday at TD Garden. The Bruins are now 2-4 in their last six games. Despite good defense, the Bruins struggled offensively. Interim coach Joe Sacco said his team needs to convert on chances.
"We just have to start burying our chances," he said (via NHL.com). “I think that we’re giving ourselves a chance to compete in games now. The guys are defending hard, like I mentioned before, but offensively, we have to get some guys going and find their scoring touch.”
The Bruins had three power-play opportunities but couldn’t score.

Boston Bruins' struggling offense resulted in fourth shutout of the season
Boston Bruins' offense has been a major concern this season. In their last seven games, they have a goal differential deficit of 20-11 and have lost four games. As a result, they have a record of 10-10-3 and have been inconsistent in winning games. They are currently placed 4th in the Atlantic Division with 23 points.
In their loss to Vancouver, they failed to answer Canucks' two goals and lost with a shutout. This was their fourth shutout of the season. Jake DeBrusk scored on a power play in the second period and Conor Garland added an empty-net goal in the third. Boston Bruins' leading scorer David Pastrnak failed to score and recorded 3 shots on goal in 21:08 minutes of ice time.
“The dam is going to break at some point,” Bruins' Charlie McAvoy said, per NHL.com “Just hope it’s soon... We’re stressing defense in here, and we’re doing a great job of it, you know, and I think it has helped our offensive game. We just can’t score.”
The Bruins had 32 shots but couldn't score. They went 0-for-3 on power plays. Boston had chances, including a late shot by Elias Lindholm, but it missed. The Boston Bruins have struggled offensively, despite good defensive play. Vancouver’s defense and Lankinen’s 32 saves kept the Bruins from scoring.
