Henrik Lundqvist is one of the best ice hockey goaltenders to have ever played in the NHL. He was born in Are Municipality, Sweden, on March 2, 1982.

Henrik Lundqvist is married to Therese Andersson. Henrik first met Therese while playing for Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien in 1998. At a surprise party, Henrik presented Therese with a massive diamond ring. After dating each other for 12 years, the duo tied the knot in 2011.

Therese Andersson, along with her husband, are the founders of the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation. It is a non-profit organization that focuses on children's and families' health and education. It is a global organization with local partners in New York City, Sweden and the Dominican Republic.

Therese and Henrik have two daughters. Charlise Lundqvist, their first daughter, was born on July 10, 2012, and Juli, their second daughter, was born on March 20, 2015.

Henrik Lundqvist, one of the world's richest and most well-known hockey players, had a net worth of $35 million. Henrik has played in the NHL for 15 years.

On Sept. 21, 2000, Henrik made his debut for Frolunda HC in a 4-2 loss to Brynäs IF in the Elitserien league. He bounced back and won his first game the next day against IF Bjorkloven, allowing one goal and stopping 18 shots despite being short-handed. He had 1.96 goals against average and a .927 save percentage in 180 appearances for Frolunda, leading them to four consecutive playoff appearances and two titles in 2003 and 2005.

He was with the New York Rangers for 15 years, joining them in 2005 after leaving his home club Frolunda to play in the NHL. He was named to the NHL's first All-Star Team in 2012 and the NHL All-Decade Second Team from 2010 to 2019. He has won the Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award twice, as well as the Vezina Trophy, which was given to the NHL's best goaltender of the year in 2012.

He was also named WC Best Goaltender in 2004 and was a member of the WC All-Star Team that year. In 2014, he was also a member of the Olympic All-Star Team.

Henrik Lundqvist announced his retirement from ice hockey in August 2021. During the 2022 season, his shirt number, 30, was retired in his honor. He has retired and is now spending time with his family.
