Florida Panthers cancel Champions Ring Ceremony

Although no NHL games have been canceled due to Hurricane Milton, the Florida Panthers did have to cancel their Championship Ring Ceremony on Sunday due to the storm.
“As this event would take resources from first responders and service providers, we have made the tough decision to cancel our Champions Ring Ceremony out of an abundance of caution for the safety of all involved," Panthers President and CEO Matt Caldwell said in a press release, via Miami Herald.
"We will instead distribute our championship rings privately. Along with state and local authorities, we are closely monitoring the situation.”
Caldwell says fans who bought tickets to the ceremony will receive a full refund. Proceeds from the ring ceremony were set to be donated to the United Negro College Fund Fort Lauderdale (UNCF Fort Lauderdale) and United Way of Broward County’s Mission United through the Florida Panthers Foundation.
The organization handed out the Stanley Cup rings to players and coaches in a private ceremony ahead of the Panthers season opener on Tuesday.
