Vancouver Canucks fans were delighted with Dakota Joshua's standout performance in their comeback 4-2 win against the Nashville Predators in Game 1 on Sunday.

Although the Canucks had a slow start to the game, they delivered a dominant performance in the third period. After trailing 2-1 in the second period, Pius Suter tied the game 2-2 in the third period before the halfway mark.

Joshua accumulated three points in the matchup. His first goal at 9:11 gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead. Both goals from Suter and Joshua were scored within 12 seconds of each other.

With less than two minutes remaining in the game, Joshua scored another goal with an empty net, securing a comfortable 4-2 win for the hosts in Game 1.

The Canucks fans were quick to praise Dakota Joshua with heaps of compliments online.

Once the season concludes, the athlete is due a substantial raise in his following contract, in that regard, some fans are demanding Canucks to pay him his ask.

"You pay Joshua whatever he desires," one fan commented.

Vancouver Canucks down Nashville Predators to take lead in series

The Vancouver Canucks had the home-ice advantage and hosted the Predators for Game 1 at Rogers Arena on Sunday. The hosts eased past the visitors with a 4-2 win.

It was an end-to-end battle in terms of shots attempted by both teams, with the Preds only attempting one shot more than the Canucks' 21 in the contest.

Roman Josi gave the Predators a 1-0 lead at 16:15 of the first period, slotting the puck past Vancouver's net from the right faceoff circle after the Preds stole the puck from the Canucks in the faceoff.

The Canucks tied the game 1-1 just 47 seconds into the second period when Elias Lindholm scored off Dakota Jashua'a assist on the rush. At 10:46, Ryan O'Reilly restored the 2-1 lead for the visitors after scoring on the powerplay.

The Vancouver Canucks had complete domination in the final period. Goals from Pius Suter and Joshua gave the Canucks a 3-2 cushion within 12 seconds. In the final frame of the third period, the Preds pulled their goalie and Joshua scored his second on the empty net to secure a commanding 4-2 win for the Canucks.

Thatcher Demko ended the night with 20 saves, while Quinn Hughes notched up an assist in the game for the Canucks. For Nashville, Juuse Saros conceded three goals and ended the night with 17 saves.

Game 2 of Round 1 between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators takes place on Tuesday at Rogers Arena.
