The Detroit Red Wings lost 4-0 to the St. Louis Blues at Little Caesars Arena on Monday. The Red Wings had trouble finding offense. Cam Talbot saved 17 shots, but the team struggled. They couldn’t get a rhythm, as coach Derek Lalonde said.

“We had some push at times, but we just can’t get any rhythm,” Lalonde said (via NHL.com). “We would get a good shift from one line and then we would lose the next shift. We have to start piling onto the good shifts.”

This loss is their third in a row. Detroit has been outscored 13-4 during the streak.

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin called their effort unacceptable.

“We’re just not getting anything going,” Larkin said, per NHL.com, “We’re not even drawing penalties by driving to the net. I think nine or 10 shots - whatever it was at the end of the second period - was unacceptable.”

Dylan Holloway opened the scoring at 16:14 of the first period with a slap shot past Cam Talbot, assisted by Cam Fowler. Alexandre Texier doubled the lead just 18 seconds into the second period. Holloway scored his second at 7:45, one-timing Brayden Schenn’s pass for a 3-0 advantage. He completed his hat trick with an empty-netter at 15:54 of the third.

Detroit was outshot 21-19 and struggled offensively, managing just nine shots through two periods.
