The Edmonton Oilers will look to build momentum on their 7-3 win over the Canucks on Saturday when they host the New York Islanders on Tuesday. After coming within arms reach of winning the Stanley Cup last season, Edmonton has been unable to find the consistency it has hoped for this year, going just 7-7-1 so far this season.

While Connor McDavid is back in the lineup tonight, the team will be without Evander Kane, who remains on the long-term injured reserve list. Last month, reports emerged indicating that Kane was going to be sidelined after undergoing surgery for several injuries.

The latest update on Kane is that he could be back in action in early 2025, but so far there has been no update over the past week on when he may be back in action.

Looking at the odds for tonight's Oilers vs Islanders game, as well as upcoming games for Edmonton as they look to get back on track

Heading into tonight's game against the Islanders, Edmonton is sitting as pretty comfortable betting favorites on most major US sportsbooks. On FanDuel, the team is sitting as -220 favorites to win the game, while the Islanders are +180 underdogs.

Similarly, on DraftKings, the Oilers are -230 favorites to win, while the Islanders are +190 underdogs. To simplify these odds using the DraftKings numbers as an example, it would take a $230 bet on Edmonton as the favorites to win $100, while a $100 bet on New York as the underdogs would win $190.

Following tonight's game, Edmonton will be back in action on Thursday when it hosts the Nashville Predators before packing up and hitting the road for three games against Canadian teams.

On Saturday, they will play the Maple Leafs, followed by a clash with the Habs on Monday, which will mark the first leg of a back-to-back that will then see them play the Senators the following night.

With the team eager to return to the Stanley Cup playoffs, every game is crucial as the Oilers look to get on track.
