The Detroit Red Wings are on the road for a cross-conference clash with the Nashville Predators on Saturday. The game will see Detroit look to snap a two-game skid, which currently sees it sitting in last place in the Atlantic Division, while on the flip side, the Predators will look to pick up their first win of the season after losing four straight.

Looking at Detroit Red Wings' season so far, and the latest rumors regarding a potential coaching change
After narrowly missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year, the Detroit Red Wings had high hopes for this season. So far, the team has not been consistent.
In their season opener, the Red Wings were on the wrong end of a 6-3 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. While they were able to bounce back and even their season at 1-1 with a 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators, they have since dropped back-to-back games to the New York Rangers.
Given the success the team was able to find against the Predators last week, the expectations for Saturday's game among Red Wings fans are that the team will be able to snap their two-game skid. However, given their 1-3 start to the season, there have been rumors of a coaching change.
According to the New York Post, latest rumors indicate that three-time Stanley Cup-winning coach Joel Quenneville could be a name to monitor. While Quenneville dealt with a massive scandal that has led to him being absent from an NHL bench since the 2021-22 season, he was reinstated leading up to this season.
Given that, and the fact that Quenneville has experience coaching both Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat, and the team's early season struggles, we could see a coaching change in Detroit.
