Looking at the New York Rangers' recent games ahead of tonight's clash with San Jose, as well as upcoming games on the team's schedule
Heading into tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks, New York will be looking to bounce back after a 6-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. The loss dropped the team to 3-2 in their last five, while marking just their fourth regulation loss of the season.
Despite that, the team Metropolitan Division currently has several teams all jockeying for first place with the 11-6-2 New Jersey Devils in first with 24 points. Sitting just behind them is the 11-3-0 Carolina Hurricanes, who have 22 points, followed by the 10-4-0 Washington Capitals in third place.
While the Rangers may have an uphill battle, the team has some winnable games on the schedule. Following tonight's game with the Sharks, the team will head to Seattle for a clash with the 7-8-1 Kraken.
From there, things could get tough on the team's four-game road trip with a game against the Vancouver Canucks scheduled for Nov. 19, a game with the Flames scheduled for Nov. 21, and a clash with the Oilers set for Nov. 23.
The Rangers will then close out the month of November with games against the Blues, Hurricanes, Flyers and the Canadiens, who all have records below .500 with the exception of Carolina.
