NHL Trade Rumors: Vancouver Canucks defenseman receives trade requests from two teams

With fewer than three weeks until the March 3 deadline, the NHL trade rumors do not appear to be fading away. Vancouver Canucks defenseman Luke Schenn has recently gotten a lot of attention on the market.

According to TFP's David Pagnotta, the Canucks have received inquiries from teams like the Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins. Both teams are said to be linked with the Canucks for the services of Luke Schenn.

Initially, it was reported that the Tampa Bay Lightning were the other team that was interested in Schenn's services, but according to Pagnotta, the Tampa Bay Lightning are now out of the running for the 33-year-old defenseman.

The Vancouver Canucks, on the other hand, are still looking for a third-round draft pick in exchange for Schenn.

Luke Schenn is a two-time Stanley Cup winner and is an experienced defender and on top of that also has an affordable $850,000 salary cap.

Considering all these facts intact, it remains to be seen whether the Bruins will get the deal done first or will it be the Calgary Flames or if we will see the entry of another club in the discussion.

As of the writing of this story, the 33-year-old defenseman has played 52 games for the Canucks this season and has managed to accumulate 18 points on three goals and 15 assists.

Apart from Luke Schenn, the Vancouver Canucks have been busy receiving calls from various teams for the services of Tyler Myers, Brock Boeser and Conor Garland. It also remains to be seen where these players will end up in the trade deadline.

Another name that is heavily coming onto the conversation about NHL trade rumors is Jakob Chychrun of the Arizona Coyotes, whose trade announcement could be made soon.

Teams such as the Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames are among the top teams discussing the possibility of a trade for the 24-year-old defenseman.

Another player to be involved in the NHL trade rumors is Erik Karlsson of the San Jose Sharks. The Edmonton Oilers are in talks with the Sharks for the services of the 32-year-old defenseman.
