Tonight, the Buffalo Sabres will look to bounce back from a 6-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday when they collide with the Carolina Hurricanes. While the Eastern Conference showdown will see Buffalo look to get back in the win column after a loss to the Kraken, Carolina will be looking to bounce back from a loss to the Ducks on Sunday.
Currently, the Sabres are sitting in last place in the Atlantic Division with 37 points, seven points behind the seventh-place Detroit Red Wings.
On the flip side, the Hurricanes are heading into tonight's game in third place in the Metropolitan Division with 55 points, putting them just two points behind the second-place Devils.
With the Hurricanes looking to overtake the Devils for second place in the divisional standings, tonight's game is crucial for both teams, but for very different reasons.
While the Hurricanes are looking to move into second place, the Sabres need every win they can get if they want to pull themselves out of last place.
