#1. Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs are the most valuable team in the NHL at $2.65 billion, which ranks 73rd overall.
The Maple Leafs are one of the original six teams and have been in the NHL since 1917. However, Toronto has not won the Stanley Cup since 1967, but if the Maple Leafs win it all, expect their valuation to skyrocket.
Toronto has won 13 Stanley Cups.
#2. New York Rangers
The New York Rangers are the second most valuable team in the NHL at $2.45 billion, which ranks 75th overall.
The Rangers, like the Maple Leafs, are an original six team and were founded and play in a massive market.
Last season, New York made it to the Conference Finals but lost to the Florida Panthers. The Rangers have won four Stanley Cups.
#3. Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens are the third-most valuable NHL team and 79th overall at $2.27 billion.
Montreal is also an original six team which must have helped boost its valuation. The Canadiens, however, have struggled as they missed the playoffs last season.
Montreal has won the most Stanley Cups in NHL history with 24 titles.
#4. Chicago Blackhawks
To no surprise, another original six team finds itself on the list, as the Chicago Blackhawks rank fourth in the NHL and 83rd overall, valued at $1.84 billion.
Chicago has won six Stanley Cups in franchise history and plays in a massive market, which helps boost its valuation.
The Blackhawks, however, have been one of the worst teams in the NHL over the past three seasons.
#5. Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins are also an original six team and rank fifth in the NHL and 84th overall at $1.78 billion.
Boston has a massive market and has had plenty of success to help it out. The Bruins have won six Stanley Cups, most recently in 2011.
