Lucas Philippe Lacamp is a professional rugby sevens player from the United States. The 23-year-old Olympian currently stands 6 feet 0 inches (182 cm) tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds (86 kg). At the age of 18, he began his international rugby journey with the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union, competing in the Under-20 World Rugby Tournament in 2019. He later moved to England to progress in his rugby career.
In 2019, Lucas enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Political Science and French, and became an official member of the UCLA Bruins. At that time, He reached the finals for the Rudy Scholz Award, which was presented to the best male collegiate rugby player. He also competed for Belmont Shore, earning consecutive All-American honors, and was also selected to play for both the USA U18s and U23s before transitioning to the Men's National Team.
Lucas debuted for Team USA at the 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series in Dubai, UAE. He rose to prominence for his impressive performance at the France Sevens in May 2022 and was nominated as one of the tournament's impact players. He also took part in the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town in 2022 but had to pull out after the game against Uganda because of an injury. As of now, the young athlete is getting ready to compete as a center position player for the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
