The promising long jumper and sprinter, Alexis Brown, has recently shared her thoughts on her farewell from Baylor University. She concluded her athletics career with a third-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Alexis Brown was honoured with All-America nods twice during her notable collegiate career with Baylor University and amassed multiple accolades. In 2024, she was named the Big 12 Women's Performer of the Year and is a two-time Big 12 Champion. She holds the outdoor program record in the 4×100 metres relay, outdoor and indoor long jump.

At the 2025 NCAA outdoor championship, she clinched third place in the long jump and concluded her decorated collegiate season with Baylor University. Through her Instagram post, Brown shared her heartfelt thoughts on her farewell. She mentioned:

"dear baylor track and field. i thank you. i thank you for taking a chance on me when i didn’t believe i was deserving of one. today i stepped foot on the track for the last time in a Baylor uniform. it wasn’t the result I wanted, but i know God has a plan and a reasoning behind it all. not everyday is our day, and that’s okay."

"was fighting a foot injury the past 2 weeks, and i gave it my all today, but i fell short! 3rd place finish at my last outdoor nationals, it hurts, but im so proud of my journey. leaving Baylor as a national champion, conference champion, school record holder, all-american, and so much more. so excited for what God has in store for this next chapter. until then, lex signing out✌🏽💚"

Alexis Brown achieves a notable feat at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships

The prominent athlete, Alexis Bown, clinched the NCAA title in the Indoor Championship in March 2025 and became the first athlete from Baylor University to clinch a National Championship in the long jump with a 22-7.75 mark.

She became the first athlete since 2021 to capture the National Championship title in the Indoor games. Through her collegiate career, she has broken her record two times, and she also qualified for the finals in the 60m race event.

In 2024, Brown became the first athlete to surpass the 22-foot mark in the women's long jump in the history of the program. She was twice named to the SEC Academic Honour Roll.
