Femke Bol recently revealed her feelings after competing at the FBK Games in the home arena. The event, which has been part of the World Athletics Continental Tour since 2021, was scheduled for Monday, June 9, at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadion in Hengelo, Netherlands.
Bol executed a flawless performance and secured the victory with a meeting record of 52.51 seconds in her signature 400m hurdles event. She defeated Gianna Woodruff and Emma Zepletalova, who clocked 54.54 and 54.71 seconds, respectively. At the 2025 edition of the event, she bested her own 400m hurdles meet record by over a second. Bol improved her time of 53.94 seconds set in 2022.
Her meet record also neared the world lead of 52.07 seconds set by her fiercest rival, Sydney McLauglin-Levrone, at the Grand Slam Track Miami. Bol won in front of an elated home crowd in the Netherlands. Following the event, the Olympian expressed joy in clinching the victory in front of the home crowd.
"No place like home," Bol wrote on Instagram story. "Thank you @fbkgames for an amazing meet as usual."

"Thank you, everyone, for coming and bringing an atmosphere to the meet," she added in another story.

"Result shows I'm on track" - Femke Bol opens up on the impact of changes on winning races

Femke Bol recently highlighted the impact of change on her race. The Olympic medalist is applying a new technique out of the blocks this season, which she stated is helping her get out of the blocks faster than ever.
“I've done it – I've got the meeting record,” said Bol (via worldathletics.org). “To be honest, I didn't really think about a specific time or anything before the race, but I really wanted to win here in front of the home crowd."
“The first part (of the race) went really well, especially with the changes I've made recently. Obviously, I felt the pain and the lactate at the end of the race, but you just know that's coming. This result shows I'm on track. I ran faster than I usually do at this time of the year.”
Femke Bol competed in her first outdoor race of the season at the Rabat Diamond League, clocking a stunning time of 52.46 seconds. This was the fastest season opener of the event and a meeting record.
