The prominent British track athlete, Dina Asher-Smith, has recently shared her thoughts on living her life in America and how it has led to her personal development. The three-time Olympic medalist recently participated in the 2025 Oslo Diamond League, capturing third position in the 100m race event.
Dina Asher-Smith is a notable sprinter who competes and holds national records in the 60 metres, 100 metres and 200 metres. From the World Championships, she has clinched one gold medal, three silver medals, and two bronze medals. Apart from Olympic and World Championship feats, the Orpington, London native has six gold and two silver medals from the European Championships.
During her interaction with Athletics Weekly on June 13, 2025, Dina Asher-Smith expressed her thoughts on living her life in America, about her personal growth and differences while competing at home as compared to competing in America and Europe. She said,
"I learned so much about myself kind of being based in America but I'm so British, oh my gosh, I'm so London that it feels very different kind of being European style of racing in Europe, it feels very different. So, for me like this is the start of my season, so I'm excited to see it build."
At the 2025 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Dina Asher-Smith competed in the 300m and captured the second position behind two-time Olympic medalist, Julien Alfred.

In March 2025, Asher-Smith was honoured with the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) award. She collected her award from King Charles at Windsor Castle after taking a short break from her training in Texas. Through her interview with the Olympics, she shared her thoughts on receiving the prestigious honor. She expressed:
"For me, it is a very powerful emblem of what you do on the track, being inspiring to other people and also having repercussions and positive influence far beyond the world of sport."
She continued,
"It is about the power of hard work and it is nice to be celebrated for your great work. He (the King) was very much amazed that I flew over from Texas to get this but I said 'Of course, you invited me so I wasn't going to miss this and this is such an honour'."
The 29-year-old Asher-Smith has captured two medals each from the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games. She is next set to participate in the 2025 Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on June 15.
