American gymnast Jordan Chiles shared her thoughts on embracing her scars and imperfections. Chiles, a two-time Olympian, has been in the headlines recently after making her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine debut.

Notably, Chiles was also one of the leading models of the project alongside the likes of Olivia Dunne. She also walked the ramp during the Miami Swim Week. Just a few days after this, the gymnast signed a deal to be a ambassador for Hero Cosmetics, a New York-based brand.

Speaking in an interview about her skin following this signing, Chiles said that even though she deals with acne and stuff occasionally, she is quite confident with her skin, and it took more than 20 years to accept this. She said (via Refinery29.com):

"I have [acne] scars here and there, but now I’m finally at a point where I’m positive with myself and my skin. Literally, it took me 22 years to finally be like, look, Jordan, you're a gorgeous girl. You have beautiful skin. Embrace that."

Amid these endeavors off the mat, Chiles also navigated a successful collegiate season with the UCLA Bruins and won an individual title in bars and the NCAA runner-up finish in the team event.

Jordan Chiles recently spoke about embracing her beauty and the struggles she had to go through in becoming confident about her own self. Speaking in an interview, Chiles shared that this process took several years, as during her youth years she hesitated from wearing several things due to a lack of confidence.

Chiles further added that she eventually realized that all women are different and are beautiful in their own way. She said (via Chiles' Instagram in collaboration with Nike):

"Embracing my body actually took me a while. I’ve gone through hard times of really looking at myself in the mirror and wondering if I was beautiful. I didn’t like wearing certain things because it didn’t make me feel like a woman. Beauty is hard, right? Beauty is pain. That’s a saying that every woman goes through. But then I had to realize every woman isn’t the same. My body is my temple."

Jordan Chiles also recently remarked about the inner thoughts she had to counter about competing in the gymnastics circuit being a woman of color and with curves.
