Alpine skiing sensation Mikaela Shiffrin extended her support to the Denver Nuggets after they trounced the Los Angeles Lakers in their third game of the playoff series.

The Denver Nuggets now lead the series 3-0. The Lakers made an impressive start to the game; however, the Nuggets brought in their energy in the second quarter. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon turned the game over with their stellar performances.

The night ended with a 112-105 in favor of Denver. Mikaela Shiffrin took to her X account and re-posted the scorecard of the match. She extended her support with a green tick emoji, showcasing her appreciation for their win.

"✅", Mikaela Shiffrin tweeted.

This isn't the first time the World Cup champion has showcased her interest in NBA teams and players. She has also voiced her appreciation for Iowa's star Caitlin Clark as well.

Mikaela Shiffrin's appreciation for NBA players

On June 12, the Denver Nuggets claimed their first NBA finals win in the team's 47-year NBA history. They defeated the Miami Heat by a score of 94-89. Shiffrin, overjoyed with this feat, shared a tweet cheering for the team.

"Holy Moly @nuggets - BROUGHT IT IN! FIRST EVER CHAMPIONSHIP!! YESSS"

Not just this team; Shiffrin also claps for Caitlin Clark's accomplishment. From Clark breaking the viewership record to bidding farewell to Iowa, Shiffrin made sure to appreciate the player.

Clark tweeted about her farewell on her X account, expressing how she is going to miss Iowa and the importance of her teammates, fans, and coaches in her life.

"Words cannot express my love for my teammates, coaches, fans and our university - Thanks for making my dreams come true. Wearing Iowa across my chest the last four years has been an honor. This place will always be home.

To this, Mikaela Shiffrin replied with a star emoji under the tweet.

"🌟", tweeted Shiffrin.

The Nuggets are favored to get out of the West and defend their NBA title this year. LA Lakers star LeBron James will do his best to avoid a first-round playoff exit. All that remains to be seen is if Shiffrin's Nuggets can sweep the Lakers.
