Quincy Wilson has been the talk of the town following his striking performances this Olympic season. With the record-breaking performances, the 16-year-old will also be debuting at the Paris Olympic Games after being included in the 4x400m mixed relay pool.

He started his Olympic campaign with the indoor races that gave him a great build-up to the outdoor season where he has also been impressive so far. Quincy Wilson was unbeaten in all the individual races he competed in.

Quincy Wilson's indoor campaign was nothing short of sparkling. Wilson reigned supreme in the 500m at the Virginia Showcase. His 500m time of 1:01.27 was a new indoor 500m world record for the under-18.

Wilson was in action at the Millrose Games, competing in the 4x200m relay, with his team taking a silver medal home as he won the 600m. On his part, Wilson started his campaign with the 300m race at the Ocean Breeze Elite Invitational clocking an astonishing 33.11 to win the race.

In the indoor 400m races, Wilson won the New Balance Nationals Indoors in 45.76. Wilson then competed in the 4x400m relays at the event where his team was also dominant.

After a successful indoor campaign, Wilson proceeded to the outdoor season, kickstarting his season with the 400m and 4x400m races at the Pepsi Florida Relays. He dominated the 400m, winning in 45.19 before propelling his team to victory in the relay in 3:09.95.

Before the U.S. Olympic trials, Wilson also competed at the New Balance Nationals Outdoors, clocking a stunning 45.13 to win the race.

He was a favorite at the U.S. Olympic trials that happened at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Wilson lived up to the billing, winning the preliminaries in a world under-18 record of 44.66. The record was previously held by Justin Robinson, who had timed 44.84 seconds in 2019.

At the U.S. Olympic trials, Wilson was majestic in the 400m semifinal as he shattered the world record again, clocking 44.59 to finish third.

In the final of the men's 400m, Quincy Wilson clocked 44.94 to finish sixth. Despite missing out on an individual slot in the Olympics, Wilson will be competing in the relay team.

His stunning performance at the trials yielded fruit as he etched his name in the annals of history, becoming the youngest-ever sprinter to make the U.S. Olympic team.

The Bullis School student now becomes the youngest track and field athlete to ever do it. Jim Ryun (1964) and Erriyon Knighton, (2021) were previously the youngest American track athletes in the Olympics, both aged 17 years old.
