Sha'Carri Richardson has reacted to Coco Gauff's French Open victory over Aryna Sabalenka. Gauff defeated Sabalenka 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 to win the 2025 French Open title on Saturday, June 8.
The American tennis star showed incredible resilience by recovering from losing the first set. Gauff also became the first American tennis player to win the French Open since Serena Williams' triumph at the 2015 edition.
Coco Gauff received praise from multiple athletes, including Sha'Carri Richardson. The sprinter shared an announcement post by ESPN on her Instagram story and wrote:
"@cocogauff amazing," and added a teary-eye and heart-eye emoji.

Sha'Carri Richardson will join her teammates Gabby Thomas and Tara Davis-Woodhall at the Athlos track and field league in 2026. The women-only event made its debut last year in New York City, with 35 female athletes vying for the largest prize purse ever for a women-only event.

Sha'Carri Richardson recently made her feelings known for being an important part of Nike's Think Tank for women's sports. She entered into a partnership with the brand in 2019. She extended the collaboration with the brand by a striking deal of $20 million after her notable performance at the 2023 World Championships, where she won three medals.
The American athlete has collaborated with the brand for campaigns and photoshoots multiple times. Stating her joy, she wrote on Instagram:
"As part of @nike Athlete Think Tank, I get to connect with brilliant people who are committed to empowering women and moving the sport forward. We share, create community, and ignite change. Thank you, Nike, for listening to the voice of the athlete!"
Sha'Carri Richardson added:

Richardson won two medals at the Paris Olympics in the 100m event and the 4x100m relay race.
