Lindsey Vonn recently embraced the comfort of baking banana bread as she returned to skiing after a long hiatus. After years of battling injuries and setbacks, Vonn is set to make her much-anticipated return to the slopes.

The American skier announced her return to the sport on Thursday, November 14, 2024, coinciding with the start of the 2024-25 Alpine Skiing World Cup season. The 40-year-old has enjoyed an illustrious career so far, having clinched three Olympic medals and eight world championships medals.

However, throughout her career, the skier navigated multiple injuries, including an aching right knee, damaged by high-speed crashes, and a knee replacement surgery in April this year. The three-time Olympic medalist is now set to make her comeback with the prospect of competing in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina in 2026.

Amid her return to the sport, the elite skier with 82 World Cup race victories showed off her baking skills, finding solace in the simple joy of the kitchen. She embraced the well-deserved break from her intensity of training and competition.

Vonn recently gave fans a sneak peek into her baking talents, sharing a picture of the banana bread she baked.

She added:

"Through the @Lindseyvonnfoundation, my mission is to help the next generation of girls chase their dreams too. 🙏🏻"

Vonn has secured World Cup victories in all five disciplines: downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom and super combined
