American track athlete Sha'Carri Richardson made her feelings known on the meaning of performative faith prevalent in society. Besides being a flamboyant athlete on the track, Richardson is a strong believer in God and faith.
She is occasionally seen posting devotional messages through her social media and has also credited God for her performance in the sport. Richardson recently shared an extract from the book "The Confident Woman Devotional" on her Instagram stories.
She stated that the extract means the exact thing that the pastor had said to her. She further added about the epitome of faith in society and wrote:
"The pastor was just talking about this yesterday! Too many of us act like we know god because we do what the culture today says that what God wants and not living by the word."

Sha'Carri Richardson made her season debut last month in Japan, where she finished 4th in the 100m race. She also extended her external endeavors outside the track in recent times as she joined Alexis Ohanian's Athlos.
Sha'Carri Richardson shares her thoughts on being a part of the ownership group of the newly structured Athlos Meet

Sha'Carri Richardson recently shared her thoughts on being the advisor-owner of the team-based Athlos event set to debut next year. According to reports, Richardson, along with Tara Davis-Woodhall and Gabby Thomas, will serve as captains during the competition, which features several events across the 2026 season.
In a statement, Richardson said that with this new position at Alexis Ohanian's Athlos, she looks forward to working for the benefit of the athletes in and out of the sport. She said (via ESPN):
"I take pride in doing what is right for people. Joining ATHLOS as an advisor-owner gives me the opportunity to create something that genuinely empowers people both on and off the track"
Founder of the meet, Ohanian, shared that athletes such as Richardson and Davis-Woodhall are the flag bearers of the new generation of athletes and that she was focused on bringing them together on board. He said:
"Gabby, Sha'Carri, and Tara represent a new generation of athletes who have put this sport on their shoulders and deserve to be compensated for being the standard-bearers. We were focused on bringing them into the league as founding owners."
Richardson didn't feature in the debut event of Athlos last year, with Thomas being the only one among the reported advisor-owners to feature in last year's meet.
