CNN journalist and attorney Laura Coates recently shared her response to how Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-lover Jane had to prove to the rapper that she was unwell by reportedly sending a picture of menstrual blood. Notably, Laura was featured in the latest episode of the podcast CNN Audio on June 7, 2025, alongside Elizabeth Wagmeister.
The latter referred to a portion of Jane’s testimony, where the witness was requesting a break from Diddy for the freak-off. Furthermore, Jane had also sent a picture to Sean, which featured a tissue, and said that she was getting her period. Elizabeth continued referring to everything that happened inside the court.
“The prosecutor said, why did you send that? She basically said, I had to prove to him that I was not lying. You think of that, in any relationship, you have to send a picture to prove that you are on your period,” she stated.

Laura used a particular word to describe the situation:
“Dehumanizing,” she said.
Wagmeister also agreed to the same, adding that Diddy replied to Jane and allegedly wrote that he doesn’t believe Jane since she had her period many times. Combs also told Jane that he was done with her, following which Jane replied to Sean that she loved him.
“It just shows this pattern of this back and forth where she tries to tell him, I don’t want to do this, Please, I don’t want do this, and then he gets angry. And then she says, okay, I love you. And then they do it again,” Elizabeth continued.
Jane told the court that she had to reschedule a party she had promised to Diddy
While testifying at the court on June 6, 2025, Jane was reading the text messages she sent to Combs from August 2023, where she allegedly claimed that she was not getting enough sleep and her body was suffering a lot due to the drug use.
As per the trial updates posted by CNN, Jane recalled that she had once promised Diddy that she would organize a party where she planned to bring the “top three or top four guys.” Jane opened up on the reasons for doing the same, saying that she wanted to do everything that Sean wanted to hear and make him excited at the same time.
Jane was reportedly aiming to build a room at her residence to organize parties at her place. However, Jane ended up rescheduling the party that she promised to Sean due to her period. Jane revealed why she sent the photos to prove the same.
“I needed to prove to him that my hesitation was real and I needed to be excused for the night and just hope that he’s not mad at me,” she stated.
According to CNN, Jane said that Diddy was frustrated and that although she tried to speak to the rapper on the call, he told Jane that she played him. Jane also wrote in a message that she was not lying or cheating on him, and Sean replied three days later during the morning hours.
Jane was reportedly dating Combs in 2020, and she began testifying against the rapper on June 5, 2025. CNN stated that Jane will continue her testimony on Monday, June 9, 2025.
