On June 16, 2025, blogger and columnist Perez Hilton shared insights on Blake Lively's recent motion with Judge Lewis J. Liman, who is presiding over the legal case between her and Justin Baldoni. In a motion filed on June 13 for a "protective order," Blake Lively's legal team claimed that Baldoni's attorneys are continuously demanding communications between the Gossip Girl alum and Taylor Swift.

Reviewing Blake Lively's motion to Judge Liman, Hilton shared a blog link from his self-titled website on X.

"#TaylorSwift is not pleased by any of this! #BakeLively," Hilton captioned the post.

In his blog, Hilton wrote that Swift was "really upset" about being mentioned in Justin Baldoni's lawsuit filed on January 16, 2025, and also about being subpoenaed in his legal conflict with Lively.

Hilton suggested that Blake Lively may be seeking to protect Swift by filing this "protective order."

"So now Blake is acting as Tay’s defender, trying to keep her from being involved? Apparently," Hilton wrote.

This letter was filed after Justin Baldoni's chief attorney, Bryan Freedman, withdrew Taylor Swift's subpoena on May 22, 2025. The letter also claimed that Swift is not "central to Ms. Lively’s claims," and is "irrelevant" to the Wayfarer Parties’ claims.

Additionally, the letter argued that the Wayfarer Parties should not be allowed to keep certain "documents" from Lively while also demanding communications from her.

"Throughout litigation, and particularly over the past month, the Wayfarer Parties have repeatedly used Ms. Swift’s name as part of their media strategy," the letter reads.

In a statement to People Magazine published on June 13, 2025, Blake Lively's representative addressed the "protective order" filed by Lively's legal team. The representative claimed that Justin Baldoni continued to demand access to text exchanges between Lively and Swift, despite having subpoenaed the singer and later withdrawing the subpoena.

The spokesperson alleged that Justin Baldoni's team planned to involve Taylor Swift in the case as early as August 2024.

"As reflected in today’s filing, their intent to drag Taylor Swift into this was evident as far back as August 2024, when the crisis PR firm led by Melissa Nathan included her in their 'Scenario Planning' document (Lively Amended Complaint, Exhibit D) and flagged the 'TS fanbase' as something to take 'extremely seriously' (Lively Amended Complaint, ¶214(b))," the statement read.

The actress' spokesperson further labeled Baldoni's legal team's alleged efforts to involve Swift in the case a "PR tactic," and a distraction from the judge's dismissal of Baldoni's lawsuit against Lively and The New York Times.

"The ongoing attempts to once again try and use the world’s biggest star as a PR tactic in this matter reflects a public unraveling of epic proportions — and serves only to distract from the fact that Justin Baldoni’s lawsuits against Ms. Lively, Ryan Reynolds, their publicist, and the New York Times have been entirely dismissed," the representative said.

On June 9, 2025, Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Justin Baldoni's $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lively's publicist Leslie Sloane.

The lawsuit was filed in response to Lively's complaint filed on December 20, 2024, accusing Baldoni of sexual assault and orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Judge Liman also dismissed a separate $250 million lawsuit filed by the Jane the Virgin actor against The New York Times. Baldoni's lawsuit against the outlet, dated December 31, 2024, followed the release of an article containing text exchanges between Baldoni and his team, which supported Blake Livey's claims of a coordinated smear campaign.
