On the June 12 episode of the Megyn Kelly Show, host Megyn Kelly was joined by Justin Baldoni's chief attorney, Bryan Freedman, who discussed Taylor Swift's role in the legal conflict between his client and Blake Lively.

During the podcast, Megyn Kelly asked Freedman about his letter to Judge Liman filed on May 14, 2025, in which he claimed that Blake Lively's attorney, Michael Gottlieb, threatened Taylor Swift, demanding that she "release a statement of support" for Blake Lively, and if she refused they would release text between her and Lively. However, the letter was struck down by Judge Liman on May 22.

"What's happening to the extent you can tell us with Taylor Swift?" Megyn questioned.

In response, Justin Baldoni's chief attorney stated that he could not reveal much about the individuals who are indirectly involved in the It Ends With Us lawsuit. His statement seemingly referred to Taylor Swift, as he withdrew her subpoena on May 22. However, people close to Lively and who have been close to her might be considered important witnesses, Freedman added.

"Just out of respect for people that aren't parties to the lawsuit there's not a whole lot that I can get into, but I think that people who are relevant to the case and people who have otherwise been with people from the beginning of the case side by side shoulder by shoulder are potentially witnesses in the case and those are things that we need to look into."

Freedman admitted that Judge Liman had made it clear that third parties should be directly relevant to claims, and Freedman believes that these "third parties," including Taylor Swift, are directly significant to the discovery process.

"It's just whether or not you need that evidence in addition to what you have already," Freedman added.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Megyn Kelly further pressed Bryan Freedman on whether Blake Lively's legal team had actually threatened the Bad Blood singer to "release a statement of support" for Lively.

"The truth is, I don't think I should speak on it. I think we should wait and see how the evidence fares out," Freedman replied.

Freedman stressed the need to let the evidence tell the story and avoid making quick judgments. He said those who have followed the case closely and read the documents understand what’s really going on, and believe the evidence will make things clear.

"There's more video evidence of this whole film shoot, like there's filming of the film shoot. I mean, you know Megyn, you saw the scene, you know where they're dancing, and everyone can judge for themselves."

He expressed frustration towards the people he is dealing with, seemingly referring to Lively's team, who are refusing to accept the evidence.

We're dealing with people who look at a scene and say, 'The sky is not blue.' What do you mean that blue is not blue? I think that will forever be the case."

Further referring to Blake Lively, Freedman said that fortunately, she doesn't get to be the juror along with the plaintiff, adding,

"So we'll have different people that will be the jurors, and hopefully they'll be able to see the sky is blue."
